A little more about the fundamental difference…

Both SMBAct and Divvy are excellent window managers with different approaches to the problem.

The way of managing the workspace offered by Divvy is quite original, but it is aimed at users who prefer the mouse to the keyboard. Despite the possibility to set custom hotkeys for any position, it is nevertheless quite difficult to remember all of them. And if some positions are used only occasionally, it will eventually boil down to calling up the window with a “grid” screen again, and selecting the desired position of the window with the mouse.

SMBAct, on the other hand, allows you to quickly call the Window Actor with a fuzzy search, where you can find the desired position or size without using the mouse.
