McTidy is a desktop organizer designed to store and restore the positions and sizes of windows on your computer. It was developed with the goal of streamlining the setup process for trading desktops in a single or multi-screen environment. McTidy is compatible with Windows 7 and 10.
When you launch McTidy for the first time, you have the option to take a snapshot of your windows, capturing their current position and size. You can then restore a saved snapshot by selecting it from the available options or using right-click on the systray icon and choosing “run once,” or by pressing Ctrl+S (the hotkey can be customized in the options).
McTidy offers additional features such as the ability to add exclusions, enable continuous autosizing and autopositioning of windows, and support for command line arguments. With command line arguments, you can initiate window tidying on program execution, set a time limit for auto-arranging windows, enable auto-quit after a specified duration, or start McTidy in a hidden mode.
